Barrington Ferry Road State Route 25 Intersection Improvements
Liberty County, Georgia
Project Details
The current intersection of US Highway 17, Barrington Ferry Road, and Lewis Frasier Road forms a triangle where both Barrington Ferry Road and Lewis Frasier Road intersect with US Highway 17 at separate but closely spaced intersections. Numerous accidents and fatalities have occurred at this intersection. Since Barrington Ferry Road will be a part of the US 84 Connector Route, the plan is to make Barrington Ferry Road the primary road intersecting with US Highway 17. Lewis Frasier Road will be re-routed to intersect with Barrington Ferry Round. A roundabout is being designed for this intersection. The Georgia Department of Transportation is funding a portion of the roadway improvements. The plans are being prepared using the Georgia Department of Transportation Plan Development Process.
